Our Recent Projects
Serving Vulnerable Children
Our newest project serves children with special needs and their caregivers by providing housing assistance in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Many families with special-needs children are unable to afford child care and are limited in their ability to work. This project provides housing, utilities, and work-from-home opportunities so that these families can enjoy more hope and less financial stress. Participants report greater peace as they face the future.
Community Development
In 2016 we partnered with YMCA Asia and Pacific to introduce the YMCA’s vision for education and community development to some talented young leaders in Lao P.D.R. This partnership has resulted in many impactful projects led by a group of dedicated community members. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them in their ongoing service to their neighbors.
Microfinance
We partnered with a trusted friend in Northern Lao P.D.R. to extend our first microfinance loan for the creation of a mushroom farm. Mushroom farming is a very practical way to increase income because it has a small footprint, requires minimal start-up funds, produces a healthy food that is easily sold in local markets, and has a rapid return on investment. This project was a success and the loan was able to be paid back on time and in full.

Merit Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2015 with a vision to see less poverty and more hope in the world. We partner with community members and stake holders in multiple nations through humanitarian aid and economic empowerment initiatives. Our partners work to improve their own lives and the lives of their neighbors with our help.
